South Melbourne - Part Time, 6mth Fixed Term Contract

About the role

Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a 6mth fixed term contract, part time (3 days per week, with preference for Monday to Wednesday, however, we’re happy to discuss alternatives for the right candidate).

 

In this business and employee facing role, you will work a Senior Payroll Officer to support the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian legislation and company policies. 

 

Location: ACS HQ, 18 Thomson St, South Melbourne

Working arrangements: Onsite, with flexibility as agreed

 

What you'll be doing

  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, Fair Work legislation, superannuation, PAYG, and tax obligations

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, and contract changes

  • Reconcile payroll reports, superannuation payments, and payroll-related general ledger accounts

  • Prepare payroll journals and assist with month-end reporting requirements

  • Respond to payroll queries promptly while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

What you'll bring

  • 5yrs of end-to-end payroll experience with strong accuracy and compliance
  • Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, and superannuation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with employees and managers
  • Confident in providing practical payroll advice and guidance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, with strong communication skills
